Decades-old mystery of strange winds on Saturn's moon Titan may be solved.

New research is being conducted to understand the peculiar winds on Saturn's largest moon, Titan, which have puzzled astronomers for decades. Titan's thick atmosphere is 95% nitrogen with a sprinkle of organic molecules, and its winds encircle the moon in just a day, repeatedly carrying currents of warm air from lower altitudes to the moon's poles. Two related studies, done nearly 30 years apart, have led to contradictory findings about the speeds of Titan's winds, and astronomers are revisiting this decades-old mystery with updated telescopes to get to the bottom of the discrepancy.
