A new species of millipede, named the Los Angeles Thread Millipede, has been discovered underground in Southern California. The translucent creature, about the length of a paperclip, has 486 legs and a blind, helmet-like head. It was found near a freeway, a Starbucks, and an Oakley sunglasses store.
