AI discovers new planet beyond our solar system

Astronomers from the University of Georgia have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to discover a new planet outside our solar system. The planet was confirmed using traditional techniques, but the AI models directed the researchers to run simulations and showed them exactly where the planet might be. The discovery adds to the growing catalog of over 5000 exoplanets found outside the solar system. The findings have been detailed in a study published in The Astrophysical Journal, which is found around a star dubbed HD 142666.
