AI locates new planet beyond our solar system

Scientists from the University of Georgia have used machine learning to discover an exoplanet by examining protoplanetary disks, the gas around newly created stars. The models detected the planet's presence by stressing a certain part of the disk that turned out to have the specific indication of a planet. This demonstrates that machine learning has the ability to quickly and accurately identify important information that people can miss, potentially speeding up analysis and subsequent theoretical insights.
