Moon Dust Replication by Enthusiasts

With space agencies around the world needing lunar soil to prepare for missions to the Moon, scientists have developed lunar regolith simulants to test hardware and experiments before they are sent to the Moon. Lunar simulants are being used for a wide range of tests and experiments, including testing geological tools, resistance of spacesuit fabrics, and developing air-purifying filters to help prevent lunar dust from contaminating the air in spacecraft and habitats. Private players are also producing simulants, with one of the world's largest producers being the Florida-based Exolith Lab.
