NASA's Osiris-REx spacecraft is preparing to deliver the first-ever asteroid sample to Earth, with the capsule set to land in Utah on September 24, 2023. The capsule, carrying the sample collected from asteroid Bennu, will enter Earth's atmosphere at a precise angle and be protected by a heat shield. It will then deploy parachutes to slow down from 27,000 miles per hour to 10 miles per hour before landing. The mission marks the culmination of a seven-year endeavor and will be followed by a six-year mission to another asteroid.
