Rogue Rockets and Spacecraft Pose Deadly Threat.

There is a growing concern over the increasing amount of space junk orbiting the Earth, with scientists warning of a 10% chance of a person being struck and killed by falling debris within the next decade. The European Space Agency estimates that there are over 10,800 tons of space junk currently orbiting the Earth, including 130 million objects, such as spent rocket boosters, Cold War spy satellites, and the iconic Hubble telescope. Startup ventures are trying to come up with concepts for safely removing the debris. The International Space Station and Hubble telescope will eventually have to be retired, but their sheer size means they could become problematic pieces of debris.
