Celestial Spectacle: Moon and Mars Unite in Sunset Delight

On August 18, the moon and Mars will make a close approach and can be seen together in the sky after sunset. The pairing will be visible in the western sky shortly after sunrise and will remain visible until they sink below the horizon in the evening. To spot them, look to the west as the sun sets and find the moon, with Mars just below and to the left. The moon will be in its waxing crescent phase and will be around 1 degree from Mars. Binoculars are recommended for a better view.
