Astronaut's Emotional Connection: Viewing Parents' Birth Country from Space

NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, who has heritage from Iran, captured photos of her parents' birth country from the International Space Station (ISS). Moghbeli, who was born in Germany and considers New York her hometown, had previously been unable to see Tehran due to weather and her busy schedule. She described the experience as the closest she will ever get to where her parents were born and raised. Moghbeli's parents left Iran during the Iranian Revolution, and she recently shared the photos with them, reminiscing about the places they had lived. In addition to this, Moghbeli participated in an all-woman spacewalk and has been busy with experiments on the ISS.
