"Japan's Moon Lander Captures Final Eerie Photo Before Lunar Slumber"
TL;DR
Japan's moon lander, the SLIM lander, may have sent its final photo before entering dormancy as lunar night descends, bringing temperatures as low as -200 degrees. The lander faced challenges after landing nearly upside down, including power generation issues and a main engine failure. Despite briefly reestablishing connection and sending images, the SLIM lander may not survive the harsh lunar night conditions, leaving its last photo as an eerie contrast to the scene shortly after landing.
