Enigmatic Exoplanet Defies Planetary Formation Theories

Astronomers have discovered an unusually large exoplanet, named TOI-4860 b, that challenges current models of planet formation. The gas giant, slightly smaller than Saturn, orbits a small red dwarf star, which should not have enough material to form such a massive planet. Two teams of astronomers independently observed the planet and are intrigued by its composition and atmosphere.
