The launch will also include JAXA's SLIM lunar lander, nicknamed "Moon Sniper," which aims to demonstrate high-precision landing technology. XRISM will detect X-ray light from energetic objects and events in the universe, while SLIM will investigate the composition of rocks near the Sea of Nectar on the moon. The launch has been rescheduled twice due to bad weather and will be live-streamed on JAXA's YouTube channel.
