Japan's Space Agency Set to Launch XRISM and SLIM Moon Sniper Spacecraft on August 26

Japan's space agency, JAXA, is set to launch the X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) spacecraft and the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) on August 26. XRISM, a joint initiative with NASA, aims to study the universe's hottest regions and objects with strong gravity, while SLIM will demonstrate accurate landing techniques on the Moon. The successful landing of SLIM will enable precise landings in desired locations, and XRISM will help measure the total mass of galaxy clusters and provide insights into the formation and distribution of chemical elements in the Universe.
