TL;DR

SpaceX has been approved to lease Space Launch Complex 6 (SLC-6) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, a historic site previously occupied by United Launch Alliance. The enormous SLC-6 launch site went up for grabs after the final flight of ULA’s Delta 4 Heavy on Sept. 24.
