SpaceX is set to launch the Arabsat BADR-8 telecommunications satellite into orbit tonight, May 23, from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket will carry the 9,900-pound satellite to geostationary orbit, where it will provide TV broadcasting and other telecom services to central Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. The launch is scheduled for 11:25 p.m. EDT, but weather conditions may cause a delay. If successful, it will be the 14th mission for this particular Falcon 9 first stage.
