"Rare Celestial Treat: August's Supermoon Duo Peaks with Sturgeon Moon"

August will begin with a full supermoon, known as the Sturgeon Moon, which will be followed by another supermoon at the end of the month. This rare occurrence of two consecutive supermoons in the same month won't happen again until 2037. The first supermoon will be approximately 222,158 miles from Earth, while the second will be slightly closer. These supermoons are part of a sequence of four consecutive supermoons happening this year. The blue supermoon in August will be the closest to Earth this year and the last monthly blue Moon until May 2026.
