Blue Origin's Lunar Lander Contract with NASA Intensifies Space Race.

NASA has selected Blue Origin to build a fully reusable lunar lander for its Artemis program, worth $3.4 billion. The lander, called Blue Moon, will be designed to fit within the fairing of the company's New Glenn rocket and will be fueled by a separate refueling vehicle. Blue Origin plans to fly a demonstration of the lander before the crewed Artemis V mission. This selection adds a second provider of human landing services for NASA and marks a significant moment in spaceflight history as both Blue Origin and SpaceX are developing radically different spaceships from the ultra-expensive, expendable means used to reach the Moon more than five decades ago.
