Trump alleges Iran shot down US helicopter as tensions in the Middle East spike
TL;DR
President Trump claimed Iran shot down a US Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz and said the US must respond, though CENTCOM said the incident is still under investigation and the crew were rescued. The development comes amid Israeli strikes on Tyre, evacuation orders for a Christian district, and Western sanctions targeting settler violence in the West Bank, with Hezbollah calling for closer ties to Tehran and international calls for de-escalation from the UN and others.
