Israeli airstrikes target Syrian capital.

Israeli fighter jets reportedly carried out airstrikes on targets in and around Damascus, Syria on Sunday night. Syria's state news agency said that the missiles were launched from over the Golan Heights and that Syrian air defenses responded, downing some of the missiles. Israel has not commented on the alleged strike, but has admitted to conducting hundreds of sorties against Iran-backed groups in Syria over the last decade. This would be the first reported strike since Syria was readmitted to the Arab League on May 7.
