Ukraine halts Russian attack in east, advances in south.

Ukrainian forces have advanced in the south and halted a Russian offensive towards the cities of Kupiansk and Lyman in the east, according to Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar. The US has issued sanctions on two Russian individuals, while Russia has added more European officials to a list of individuals barred from entering the country in response to the EU's decision to slap new sanctions on Moscow. NATO has concluded its largest-ever air deployment exercise in Europe, while the UK has accused Russia of training combat dolphins near the annexed Crimean peninsula to counter Ukrainian forces.
