Achilles Shield takes shape as Israel and Greece seal multi-layer air defense pact

Israel and Greece signed a defense deal worth over NIS 10 billion ($3.48 billion) to build a multi-layer air‑defense network, including Rafael’s David’s Sling and SPYDER systems and IAI’s Barak MX, plus an AI-enabled national command center; a supplementary €26 million would add drone-dome systems, with Greek subcontractors set to receive roughly €700 million of the total, and SPYDER batteries to be deployed on Greek islands—the largest defense export deal Israel has ever made.
