Tensions Rise: US General Visits Israel Amid Threat of Imminent Attack from Iran
TL;DR
President Biden warns of potential Iranian attack on Israel, as a senior U.S. military commander travels to Israel to coordinate with fears of imminent retaliatory action by Iran. Israel announces a new operation against Hamas in Gaza, a day after killing relatives of a top Hamas leader, while international negotiators work to broker a cease-fire. The director of the U.S. Agency for International Development cites 'credible' assessments that famine has begun in northern Gaza, and President Biden urges Israel to improve aid flow to Gaza. Hamas claims it does not have 40 living hostages who meet the terms of a potential swap with Israel, as talks between the two sides stall.
