Biden's Stance on Palestinian Authority, Two-State Solution, and Visa Bans

President Joe Biden stated in an op-ed that achieving a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict is not enough for lasting stability, emphasizing the need for a reunited Gaza Strip and West Bank under a revitalized Palestinian Authority. Biden expressed support for a two-state solution and called for an end to extremist violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. He also mentioned the possibility of issuing visa bans against extremists attacking civilians. While providing weapons and intelligence support to Israel, Biden is working for the release of Hamas-held hostages. He opposes a cease-fire as long as Hamas continues its ideology of destruction, arguing that leaving Hamas in control of Gaza would perpetuate hate and deny Palestinians the chance to build a better future. Biden believes that pursuing long-term goals will lead to progress, hope, freedom, and less conflict.
