US Sends Guided-Missile Submarine to Persian Gulf Amid Iran Tensions

The US Navy has deployed a nuclear-powered submarine capable of carrying up to 154 Tomahawk missiles to the Middle East, in what appears to be a show of force towards Iran following recent tensions. The submarine passed through the Suez Canal on Friday and is deployed to the US 5th Fleet to help ensure regional maritime security and stability. Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from ships or submarines can hit targets up to 2,500 kilometres away.
