Gibbs lands historic extension, becoming NFL's highest-paid running back
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs agreed to a three-year extension reportedly worth $67.5 million, potentially rising to $75.75 million with $51.5 million guaranteed (initial figures often inflate). The deal makes Gibbs the NFL’s highest-paid RB. Gibbs has produced strong numbers over three seasons (about 1,745 scrimmage yards per year, 49 total touchdowns) and, with David Montgomery now with the Texans, Detroit plans to lean on him as their bell cow. The team is also eyeing extensions for Sam LaPorta and Brian Branch, though Branch’s recovery from a torn Achilles will factor into any decisions.
