Studio Displays Split Chips: A19 in Standard, A19 Pro in XDR
Apple’s new Studio Display lineup uses two different chips: the standard Studio Display contains an A19 chip, while the Studio Display XDR uses an A19 Pro chip. The original 2022 model used an A13 Bionic. The chips likely power improved speakers and the Desk View camera feature, with the XDR model offering higher-end specs (120Hz refresh, mini-LED backlight, brighter display). Apple hasn’t officially disclosed the chips in marketing materials, but firmware teardown confirms them. Both models are available for preorder and will launch March 11, with teardowns and reviews forthcoming to reveal deeper hardware details.
