Logitech Holds Ultimate Ears, Turning Rock-Rooted Monitors into Everyday Bluetooth Speakers
Ultimate Ears was founded in 1995 by Jerry and Mindy Harvey after Harvey built custom in-ear monitors for Van Halen. Logitech acquired Ultimate Ears in 2008 for $34 million, merging the pro-audio brand with its global reach and pushing UE into consumer Bluetooth speakers, alongside other Logitech brands like Astro Gaming, Loupedeck, and Blue Microphones, as well as software ventures such as Streamlabs and Challonge.
