
Bafta vows reforms after racial slur shocks live ceremony
An independent Rise Associates review found Bafta failed to adequately anticipate and manage the impact of a racial slur shouted during the awards, delivered by Tourette's campaigner John Davidson; while there was no malicious intent, Bafta says it will tighten escalation and information sharing, boost access and inclusion planning, and address internal cultural gaps to reduce future risk, with broader questions raised about the BBC broadcast as well.
