Iran's Southeastern Insurgency Intensifies as Baloch Coalition Targets Regime Security
A new coalition of Baloch and Sunni militant groups, the People’s Fighters Front (JMM), has escalated armed attacks against the Iranian regime in Sistan and Baluchistan and Kerman provinces. HRANA reports 63 incidents and 94 deaths since March 2026, with violence accelerating sharply in October. The regime has deployed reinforcements, including 40 additional military vehicles to Taftan, but experts warn the insurgency strains Tehran’s security apparatus without threatening immediate territorial seizure.
