LandSpace bets on Aug. 10 for Zhuque-3 orbital booster landing

China’s LandSpace is targeting Aug. 10 for a fourth attempt to recover the Zhuque-3 orbital booster from Jiuquan spaceport. After its 2025 debut, which reached orbit but saw the first stage explode on descent, a June 29 static-fire test validated the vehicle ahead of flight. Zhuque-3 is a 66-meter methane–oxygen rocket capable of delivering about 18,300 kg to LEO, and the mission will pursue a powered descent and landing similar to Falcon 9, continuing China’s evolving rocket-reusability efforts alongside other booster tests like Long March 10B/12A.

SpaceX's Starlink Missions: A Week of Launches and Stock Surges

SpaceX successfully launched two Starlink missions, one from Florida and one from California, bookending the attention-grabbing Starship launch. The Florida launch deployed 23 Starlink satellites into a 43-degree orbital inclination, while the California launch deployed 22 satellites into a 53-degree orbital inclination. Both missions saw successful booster landings on SpaceX's droneships. With these launches, SpaceX has now launched over 5,445 Starlink satellites, with 4,500 in operational orbits.

SpaceX's Ax-2 mission set for narrow launch window this weekend.

SpaceX and Axiom Space have a narrow window of two launch opportunities this month for the Ax-2 mission to the International Space Station before having to wait potentially several months before getting another shot. If the mission doesn’t launch by May 22, they would have to wait until after one or more other missions scheduled to launch to the station. The launch will be the first crewed mission to attempt a booster landing back at Cape Canaveral’s Landing Zone 1, the former Launch Complex 13, rather than on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.
