"State of Emergency: Cape Breton Buried Under 5 Feet of Snow, Residents Await Rescue"

Cape Breton in Nova Scotia has declared a state of emergency after a massive snowstorm trapped residents in their homes, with some areas receiving over 150 centimeters of snow. The extreme weather has led to blocked doors, encased vehicles, and power outages, prompting the municipality to seek help from provincial and federal governments for snow removal equipment, fuel storage, and air transport assistance. Nova Scotia's premier is mobilizing all available plows, while federal assistance from Parks Canada, Canadian Coast Guard, and volunteer organizations is being deployed to aid in the snow removal efforts.
