Vivian Kubrick has publicly denied the long-circulating theory that 20 minutes of footage were removed from her father's 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut after his death. In a detailed post on X, she stated she never heard of such a cut during or after production and has never seen evidence supporting its existence. She clarified that while the film was altered for US release to secure an R rating via CGI, no narrative scenes were excised. The film's editor, Nigel Galt, has similarly confirmed the released version matches Kubrick's final cut.
