USDA Launches $8 Billion Harvest Fuel Relief Program to Offset Diesel Spike
The USDA announced an $8 billion one-time payment program for US farmers to offset soaring diesel costs during the 2026 harvest season. The initiative, authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation, aims to provide relief ahead of the midterm elections. Payments will be distributed using a formula based on planted acres and crop types, with specific rates to be released in November. This follows earlier executive orders regarding dyed diesel and a previous $12 billion aid package.
