Koenigsegg unveils the CCGT1, a road-legal megacar honoring its GT1 race lineage. Lotus refreshes its combustion-era halo, the Emira, with the 420 Sport, lifting power to 420 metric hp (414 hp US), shaving about 55 lb and adding 55 lb of downforce with an optional lightweight handling package. It introduces a removable glass roof panel and sticks with an eight-speed dual-clutch (no manual for the AMG four‑cylinder option). US price starts at $122,900 with orders open and deliveries due in August; a hybrid V‑6 Emira is expected soon, and buyers with the older powertrains will have a limited window to purchase.
Manthey Racing has released an upgrade kit for the Taycan Turbo GT (Weissach-equipped) that adds aero, brakes, and a tuned powertrain, boosting downforce to 1,631 lbs at top speed, lifting nominal power to 804 hp (978 hp for 10 seconds in Attack mode) and shaving the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap to 6:55.553; 0–60 mph improves to 2.1 seconds. Red Bull's RB19 Formula 1 car features a series of seven small vanes on the underside of the floor edge, just behind the winglet and vortex generators. These vanes help channel airflow at maximum velocity through the gap between the rear tire and diffuser wall, increasing downforce. The vanes create mini vortices to keep the airflow sucked inboard along the length of the narrowing floor edge. While not a game changer, this refinement contributes to Red Bull's ability to control the car's aerodynamics.
