Measles case linked to Dulles travel prompts regional health alerts
A Maryland resident who passed through Dulles International Airport and later visited a Mary’s Center urgent care in DC has tested positive for measles. Health officials urge anyone potentially exposed to contact their provider and stay home if sick; two doses of a measles-containing vaccine or birth before 1957 confer protection. The case adds to rising nationwide outbreaks (over 2,000 cases this year) and is Maryland’s fourth measles case of the year, with a Virginia case linked to Dulles noted as well.
