The iPhone 18 Pro finishes second in Dxomark's camera ranking, three points behind Huawei's Pura 80 Ultra; it excels in low-light photography and video stabilization, aided by a variable-aperture lens, but weaker telephoto performance and long-range zoom, plus occasional color/white-balance quirks.
Even with two 200 MP Hasselblad cameras and strong color/low-noise performance in good light, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra scores 170 on DxOMark and ranks third behind Huawei Pura 80 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra. The camera hardware is impressive, but issues persist: no variable aperture can misfocus background objects in portraits, AI sharpening can look artificial, noise reduction struggles with backlit scenes, white balance can skew warm in low light, and telephoto performance lags behind rivals despite 10x optical zoom.
DxOMark finds the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s new 200 MP main camera improves detail and low‑light noise versus the S25 Ultra, and skin tones are better, but it still trails the iPhone 17 Pro in detail and noise; autofocus may miss faces and bokeh artifacts appear, while the other rear cameras remain largely unchanged.
The Galaxy S24 series has been ranked as having the best smartphone displays by independent reviewer DxOMark, with the Ultra leading in display quality and the base S24 model having the highest-ranked display in the Premium Ranking category. Despite some minor issues, the new LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels and Samsung technologies make the displays fantastic, with the Ultra standing out due to its Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection and exceptional scratch resistance.
Early users of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have reported a display issue, with complaints about dull colors and poor quality compared to previous models. Samsung has acknowledged the problem, attributing it to a software bug affecting the Vivid display color mode. While a fix is in the works, the company has not provided a timeline for its release. Despite the dissatisfaction, Dxomark has ranked the Galaxy S24 Ultra's display as the top performer, praising its high peak brightness and color reproduction. Samsung's official response on the Community forum acknowledges user feedback but offers no immediate solution beyond adjusting display settings.

The device's camera system has made progress but still lags behind competitors in overall performance, scoring 144 points overall on DxOMark. While it captures detailed photos and videos with accurate exposure and color reproduction, it suffers from noticeable shutter lag, missing details in certain scenarios, and visible image noise in low light conditions.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro falls short of its competitors, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max and Huawei P60 Pro, in DxOMark camera tests. While the Pixel 8 Pro has one of the best camera systems, it scored lower than its predecessors and was outshone by Apple this time around. The Pixel 8 Pro performed well overall but had occasional issues with fine details, textures, and portrait mode. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were ranked higher, while the Huawei P60 Pro remained unchallenged by its US competitors.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has been ranked as having the second-best smartphone camera in the world by DxOMark, narrowly beaten by the Huawei P60 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro Max received praise for its exposure, portrait photography, videography, image quality, and video recording capabilities. However, it was noted that the camera system had weaknesses in low-light photography, unwanted artifacts, limited dynamic range, and inconsistent detail across zoom ranges. DxOMark is a reliable source for camera comparisons, but it's worth noting that the company offers a consultation service that can potentially influence scores.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has been tested by DXOMARK and received high scores for stabilization, color, and video performance. However, it falls short of the top spot due to drawbacks such as the large gap in the field of view between the main sensor and telephoto lens. In terms of video performance, the iPhone excels in most subcategories but falls behind in texture and artifacts. In terms of photo performance, it performs well in exposure, color, and texture but is let down by autofocus performance and noise. The telephoto lens also shows some limitations compared to competitors. Overall, the iPhone 15 Pro Max's camera system is excellent, but there may be trade-offs depending on individual preferences.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has secured the second spot in DxOMark's mobile camera rankings, thanks to its new "Tetraprism" zoom technology. While praised for its telephoto abilities, the device fell short of surpassing the Huawei P60 Pro, which still holds the top spot. The 15 Pro Max received accolades for skin-tone accuracy, exposure, auto-focus, and video stabilization, but its zoom capabilities lacked consistency across all ranges and it struggled with unwanted artifacts and noise in low-light shots. Further testing is still underway, and it remains to be seen how the absence of the Tetraprism camera in the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro will affect its performance.

Despite lacking a zoom camera, the Z Flip 5 impresses with its hardware, AI, and image processing. It offers a pleasant experience in still-life image shooting, fast autofocus, and effective video stabilization. However, it produces noise in photos and artifacts in low-light photography. The Z Flip 5 is equipped with a 12MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie sensor. It is available for $999 from Samsung.

DxOMark considers the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to have a competent camera system but not one that reaches the upper echelons of modern flagships.
