Europe’s EuroSuit aboard the ISS marks an early step in a longer spaceflight journey
Europe’s EuroSuit IVA prototype, built by CNES, MEDES, Spartan Space and Decathlon, is still in early testing aboard the ISS after Sophie Adenot’s fit and dexterity checks. The suit is intended for rapid donning/doffing inside a spacecraft during launch and landing (not for spacewalks) to improve emergency response. Adenot’s feedback will guide future iterations, moving Europe toward more autonomous human spaceflight as the design advances toward systems like pressurization, life support, and communications.
