With the 2027 budget rising to about $267.7 billion, the Air Force plans to buy 267 F-15EX Eagles (including 24 in FY27) to recapitalize the aging F-15E fleet and keep two fighter production lines open alongside the F-35, while outlining divestments of legacy aircraft such as U-2s, KC-135s, A-10s, and others as part of broader modernization.
