United Flight Attendants Secure Industry-Leading Pay and Protections in Five-Year Deal
United Flight Attendants ratified a five-year contract with an average 31% base pay increase this summer, plus boarding pay averaging 7–8%, and $741 million in retroactive pay. The 82% approval among nearly 30,000 AFA members, reached with mediation support, includes expanded job security, leave provisions (maternity, parental/adoption), higher per diem and premiums, and measures to reduce long unpaid sits. The deal was brokered through the National Mediation Board with mediator Michael Kelliher and positions United’s contract as industry-leading for flight attendants.
