NASA has completed the Artemis 2 flight readiness review and targets no earlier than April 1 for a 10-day lunar mission aboard Orion 'Integrity' with Wiseman, Glover, Koch, and Hansen. NASA's X-59 supersonic jet has passed its Flight Readiness Review, a crucial step towards its first flight. The review assessed safety measures and potential hazards, providing recommendations for the next phase, the Airworthiness and Flight Safety Review. The X-59, developed with Lockheed Martin, aims to reduce the noise of sonic booms, making supersonic flights over land feasible again. Further ground tests are planned before the jet's maiden flight.
SpaceX's Starship is ready for its maiden flight, pending the Federal Aviation Administration's launch license. The rocket has passed its final Flight Readiness Review and is expected to launch on April 17, with backup windows from April 18 to 22. The booster will not attempt a landing back on the launch site, instead landing over the ocean, while Ship 24 will impact the ocean at terminal velocity. SpaceX has been working on final checks for the rocket's software and engine interfaces, and teams are configuring the flight termination system before launch.
