Easter ceasefire breached as Kyiv tallies hundreds of Russian violations
Ukraine’s General Staff said the Orthodox Easter ceasefire began at 4:00 p.m. local time and Russia has violated it more than 400 times on April 11 alone, tallying 469 incidents including 22 assaults, 153 shellings, 19 kamikaze drones and 275 FPV drones, with 101 front-line clashes reported. The clashes spanned areas like North Slobozhansk, Kursk, and South Slobozhansk, including near Starytsia, Veterinarne, Prylipka and Vovchanski Khutory. Russia also accused Ukraine of strikes on Kursk and Belgorod; Zelensky said Ukraine is ready for mirror steps and could extend the ceasefire if Russia complies, though Kyiv Independent could not independently verify the claims.
