Google Introduces Heat Alerts in Search to Combat Climate Change

Google Search will soon show excessive heat warnings in your area, powered by the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN), to help people stay safe during heat waves. The feature will display details on current conditions, tips on staying cool, and related health concerns. Google will donate $5 million to the World Resources Institute as part of its $30 million Google.org Impact Challenge to fund a project that uses sensors, satellite imagery, and AI to model air temperature, humidity, surface reflectivity, tree cover, and heat vulnerability.
