Tooth clues reveal T. rex was warm-blooded like elephants

Scientists used clumped isotope thermometry on three T. rex teeth to estimate a body temperature around 36.3°C (roughly elephant-level heat), implying warm-blooded, stable metabolism and the ability to roam across climates; comparisons with crocodilians and climate models suggest T. rex kept heat above its environment, though a seasonal bias can't be fully ruled out. The researchers aim to apply the method to other dinosaurs to map when such physiology evolved.
