
American Airlines Rebounds After Nationwide IT Glitch
American Airlines and its regional carriers resumed departures after a brief nationwide ground stop caused by an IT outage, with the FAA noting the outage began around 6:30 p.m. ET and was lifted by 7:18 p.m. ET. The disruption delayed hundreds of flights, with FlightAware reporting about 1,100 delays and 221 cancellations as systems came back online; East Coast thunderstorms also contributed to the delays.
