Possible Love Wows Venice With Six-Minute Standing Ovation
Lee Chang-dong’s Possible Love earned a six-minute standing ovation at Venice as it debuted in competition, a sweeping romantic drama about two married couples whose lives intersect through a documentary about factory workers and class tensions. Netflix will release the film in the U.S. on Oct. 23 before streaming globally on Nov. 6, with a cast including Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong; it marks Lee’s return to Venice after 24 years and his first feature in eight years.
