Aoun: Lebanon–Israel talks aren’t treason, aim to end war with a ceasefire
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun says negotiating with Israel is not treason and that Lebanon’s goal is to end the war through a ceasefire that guarantees Israel won’t attack Lebanese targets, while accusing Hezbollah of treason. He notes Washington has been briefed and that talks should proceed with caution, contrasting indirect negotiations with Hezbollah’s stance that direct talks are unacceptable and the resistance will continue.
