Castle Breaker: Iran’s Kheibar Shekan Expands Reach in the US-Iran Stand-off
Tehran’s IRGC unveiled the Kheibar Shekan (Castle Breaker) — a solid-fueled, medium-range ballistic missile with about 1,450 km range and a 449–590 kg warhead — capable of rapid launch and used against US bases in Jordan and other Gulf targets as part of the ongoing US-Israel–Iran confrontation. It sits among Iran’s expanding missile arsenal, alongside Fateh‑110, Zolfaghar, Emad and Khorramshahr variants, and it is contrasted with US PrSMs and Tomahawks. Recent exchanges have included US strikes on IRGC sites and Iranian missiles/drones against bases in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait and Erbil, with casualties reported in Kuhestak and spillover effects on oil markets.
