Google restricts Gemini 4 Argon to cyber defenders amid safety concerns
Google has launched Gemini 4 Argon, its latest frontier AI model, but is limiting initial access to a select group of 'trusted cyber defenders' through the Fairwind Program. The model features an industry-leading 1 million token limit and demonstrates superior performance in software engineering, legal work, and cybersecurity defense compared to rivals from OpenAI and Anthropic. Google is coordinating with the U.S. government on pre-release safety evaluations to prevent misuse and misalignment before a broader rollout to developers and consumers.
