MSU Wells Hall arrest linked to meth precursor stash, prompts campus closure
A 31-year-old man, Xin Tong, was arrested at Michigan State University’s Wells Hall on felony charges for possessing chemicals used to manufacture meth and for malicious destruction of a building over $20,000; authorities say no meth lab was found in Wells Hall, but precursors and containers were found on Tong, who is being held on a $500,000 bond with a Department of Homeland Security hold. The building was closed for cleanup and remediation, while campus officials confirmed the environment is safe and continued the investigation.
