Cyan Worlds has publicly shared a four‑month prototype for a Myst sequel called Project Anglerfish, built for publisher eyes in Unreal Engine. The teaser trailer showcases Myst’s signature vistas, but the project was not continued, which would have marked the first new Myst entry since 2005’s Myst V. The studio has faced layoffs following the 2024 Riven remake, though the teaser hints at more Myst experiences to come.

Cyan Worlds is releasing remakes of Myst and its sequel Riven for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Microsoft Store, including PS VR2 support, ray-traced reflections, and a 60fps Performance Mode. PS5 Pro Enhanced options and a Power Saver mode are included, Xbox supports 4K and HDR, and both titles will cost $35 with a May 19 launch (Myst is already purchasable on Xbox Series X/S).
Vince Weaver, an associate professor at the University of Maine, has created a "demake" of the iconic game Myst for the Atari 2600, a console released in 1977 with limited capabilities. Weaver's project aims to adapt the graphically-rich game to fit the older hardware, presenting a unique challenge. While he doesn't plan to port the entire game, he wants to create enough puzzles to make it a "real" game. Weaver's demake showcases the evolution of gaming technology over the past 30 years.
The puzzle adventure game Firmament, developed by the studio behind Myst, Riven, and Obduction, will be released on PC and Mac on May 18, with a later release on PlayStation consoles and PS VR2. The game takes place in a mysterious steampunk world with three abandoned realms to explore, and supports VR play on PC with a variety of headsets.
